The Role:

GDS is looking for a seasoned and proven Account Executive that will report to one of our Executive VP. The Account Executive will be responsible for selling GDS’s Smart Manufacturing Technology Services to new clients and must have proven ability to exceed targets.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and have success working with Financial and Manufacturing Operation personnel while defining both business and technical objectives.

The role includes prospecting, presenting to, negotiating, and closing strategic business partnerships with Automotive Tier I, II and III throughout the Midwest USA.

Preferred Responsibilities:

  • Develop and close opportunities with new accounts

  • Identify and qualify prospect leads by telephone, premise visits, and networking with Financial and Manufacturing decision-makers at companies ranging from mid-market to Fortune 500 in order to identify opportunities to sell GDS’s Smart Manufacturing Technology Services

  • Engage and coordinate necessary resources (i.e. Technical Lead, Business Process Analysis, etc.) to progress, and close deals

  • Develop proposals, response to RFP (Request for Proposals), RFQ's (Request for Quotes), and conduct face-to-face sales presentations for prospective customers

  • Help uncover new deals and nurture existing opportunities

  • Create and foster strong, collaborative relationships with new clients, as well as internal GDS Business Analysis and Technology Team Members and Partners

  • Prepare and deliver persuasive internal and client facing presentations while coordinating, as needed, internal resources to close contracts

  • Prepare weekly forecasts and pipeline reports, track all sales activity through the sales Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system

  • Ability to build consistent new revenue pipeline - ability to convert leads generated into defined opportunities

  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment while maintaining focus and working independently to execute the sales cycle, coordinating members of the GDS and/or partner network to assist with close, as needed

  • Engage with Technology and Process Management to provide feedback on customer reaction to Smart Manufacturing Technology Service Projects

  • Gather market information including competitor activity, and report to management

  • Demonstrated history of meeting or exceeding quarterly and annual sales goals

  •  Willingness to travel minimum of 50% of the time

Requirements:

  • Minimum 7-10 years of proven B2B sales experience within the Business Process Management, software integration, ERP, EDI, Inventory Management, Quality Systems or manufacturing operations management

  • A proven track record in successfully prospecting, negotiating and closing strategic deals/partnerships with Automotive Tier I, II and III manufacturers and in new markets

  • Exceptional client relationship skills, including superb written and oral communication skills

  • Understanding of the complexity of data driven manufacturing

  • Proven ability to thrive under tight deadlines while successfully juggling a multitude of project simultaneously

  • Must be able to work independently and manage your own activities to reach stated goals while maintaining detailed records and forecasts

  • BS/BA in a relevant field or equivalent work experience required

  • An extreme level of energy, highly self-motivated, and a passion for success required

  • Strong references (customer and work)

 

Compensation:

A Base Salary plus a Commission, travel expenses and health/retirement benefits
